San Fransisco

Eats:

Breakfast at Jane on Larkin, I'm a coffee n toast kind of gal for breakfast, and boy does this place have toast, Avocado Mash and Nutty Bird are go to's. Also, you need to get the juice there, they come in reusable glass jars - sweet and green is my favorite, it's all in the name.

Breakfast, coffeee, and/or snack time at Tartine, we realize this isn't the most unique of suggestions, but sometimes theres a pretty good reason a spot has a line out the door.

Ice Cream at Smitten, churned in front of your face.

Lunch at La Taqueria in the Mission, all you need to know, order a burrito, and savor that moment.

If your feeling a little bit more lavish, have lunch at Presidio Social Club, we like sitting at the bar, makes us feel like fancy professional locals. If your like us, and you probably will be considering your in foggy San Francisico, we suggest these cozy orders: East West Chicken Noodle Soup and the PSC Gruyere Cheese Toast.

Dinner at The Tonga Room. This place should be considered cheesy and maybe it is a little, but it feels authentic and that's probably because it is, first opened in 1945. Set inside the historic Fairmont Hotel in the basement, is this anomaly of a tiki bar + restaurant. The food is decent but not what your there for, order a fishbowl of whatever sugary alcoholic beverage of your choice is and take in the fact that your in the basement of a hotel with a canal of water in the center with an actual boat holding an actual live band playing all the tropical hits. It's something you just have to take our word for and go!

Dinner at State Bird Provisions. Make sure you have a reservation well in advanced because this spot is small and fills up quick for good reason... I would say most of all, this is just a really fun way to eat- essentially its an ever changing menu of new american small dishes served dim sum style.

Play:

Musee Mecanique, this spot at Fisherman's Wharf holds some of the oldest and largest collections of arcade games in the states, all of which are playable. You will see and play a range of the strangest and most nostalgic games set under one roof...we had the pleasure of meeting the owner who you might get lucky enough to see rollerskating his way around the joint manually up keeping all of his machines himself. He's amazing and so is this place, spend a rainy afternoon here, and lets get serious, that's most San Fran afternoons.

Walk through the Sutro Baths, ruins of what once was an extravagant public bathhouse in the 1800's built on the cliff of the ocean. Unfortunately, the bathhouse got destroyed in a fire but the remains are still beautiful and now makes for a great spot for a hike (side note, often times when i say hike, i basically mean walk, but there are stairs, and to us, that's hiking!) Explore this spot after eating at Louis SF and then head to Camera Obscura to see more of the interesting and unusual just down the street.

Another rainy day activity for you is House of Air, we like anything 12 year old boys like, so if your like us, head over to this trampoline park to jump, jump around.

We like drinking, but we like drinking even more when there's some sort of competitive edge surrounding it, which makes Urban Putt the place for us, a bar offering glow in the dark mini golfing.

There is SO much amazing art in SF but our favorite go to spot will always be The DeYoung Museum, their exhibits will never cease to disappoint.

SHOP:

It's our secret to give, this is the best Wasteland out there, it will probably decrease significantly in juicy finds now that your all reading this, but we're telling you this for the greater good of consignment shopping.

Miette Candy Shop, perfect spot to grab sweet little take home gifts, pun totally intended.

Haight Ashbury is home of some of the best vintage stores we have ever stepped foot in, but Relic takes the cake for us, its a little pricier than some of the others, but its so hand selected that there is no deep dive vintage digging involved for your latest and greatest new piece.

If you are however looking for both the find and the thrill of finding it, another juicy joint is Held Over on Haight Street, a pretty big spot but well organized by both pieces, and eras.

Static is another fave vintage shop, this spot is especially great for finding designer pieces and also has a great jewelry section, I scored some vintage clip on that perfectly resembled Proenza Schouler SS17, needless to say I was quite the happy shopper here.

You may or may not want to actually buy anything in Paxton Gate, this Mission curiosity shop has everything from a cactus room, sea animals restored in glass jars, to a wall full of animal heads, you will basically be visiting the authentic Ripley's Believe it or Not where everything is for sale.
