PALM SPRINGS
Its ALL about the pool in Palm Springs, which means its all about where you stay.
Our Favorite places to stay:
Ace Hotel, a little sceney and can sometimes get a little rowdy for our old asses but the two pools, location, and dining make up for the rest. You will not be bored here, you can take their on property bikes for a spin to give yourselves an off roading tour of all the amazing houses, take a million and one pics in the photo booth, have a massage, get drunk all day by the pool like we do, and eat like a champ at the Kings Highway, their restaurant. The Kings Highway is both perfectly designed and delicious and you basically have to do bingo during dinner there on Monday nights, just trust us on this one.
The Parker Palm Springs is our favorite place to stay when we can actually afford it, the prices can get pretty crazy but you can catch it every once and a while at a semi affordable rate, and when you can do that, we strongly urge you to nab it and treat yo self. If you check in here, you probably won't be leaving the property during your trip, luckily you don't have to. The hotel has three pools, including an adults only swimming pool and an indoor, which might be one of my favorite parts of this place. We love embarrassing ourselves on the tennis courts there and then quenching our thirst at the lemonade stand. Even if you can't make it here to stay, come by for breakfast at the ever famous Norma's and walk the ground afterwards.
If the Ace Hotel and the Parker got drunk and made a baby, that baby would be called The Avalon Hotel. The Avalon is far more luxe than the Ace but also far friendlier on the wallet than the Parker, a perfect combination of everything we like. The beds are super plush and comfy, the location is a block away from everything in town but still tucked away on a quite side street, acai bowls in the morning are A+, and the three pools are quite the delight.
Also, Palm Springs is a great to rent a house, since most of the houses are architectural beauties of museum quality. If your traveling with a bigger group, we recommend the Olancha House, our best friend's recently got married in PS and we all stayed here. Happy tried and true!
Other Notables:
Don't miss out for lunch at Tyler's Burgers
As previously mentioned, we like most everything that of an 8 year old boy enjoys, so we like bringing out our inner child at Boomers, taking a break from the sun by playing video games and mini golf.
Feeling a need for a little detox from all those margaritas by the pool? Grab a green juice and/or healthy wholesome meal at Palm Greens Cafe.
Palm Springs might be our favorite vacation spot to dress for, and if you really want to get in the spirit of things or take a piece of palm springs home with you, have a little shop sesh at Iconic Atomic vintage store, just note, this place is only opened Thursday-Sunday so plan accordingly.
You'll probably get an architectural boner, if your into that sort of thing, just walking around PS. But if you need even more of a fix, or if your an Elvis fanatic, or if you just want to see something down right cool, we suggest Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway, where you can tour through Elvis and Pricilla's honeymoon house where they lived for a few years after getting married in the late 60's. *Bonus* note, be sure to grab a photo on their Pantone pink silky bed :)
